Interpreting confidence in practice
How to use ATHENA’s confidence readouts for position sizing temperament—without treating them as win probabilities.
What confidence is
Stage confidence and related certainty readouts summarize how aligned the model’s inputs are with the assigned stage—they are not “70% chance of profit.” See How TRINITY AI works.
How traders use it in practice
| Confidence | Practical habit |
|---|---|
| High | Still respect stops and thesis breaks; use normal research depth. |
| Moderate | Smaller initial size, wider invalidation rules, or wait for SATA/pattern alignment. |
| Low | Paper-trade only, or pass—low confidence often coincides with messy data or conflicting structure. |
Pair confidence with risk settings
Confidence should dialogue with your Risk management caps: a confident Stage 2 name still fails if it breaches max position or max portfolio risk you already set.
