When panels disagree on a symbol page
How to reconcile AI Signal, Pattern Direction, stage, and transition hints when they point different ways.
The default resolution order
Use this sequence when two readouts conflict:
- Data freshness — If the analysis timestamp is old, stop. Refresh or queue analysis before trusting any panel.
- Stage + gates — AI Signal is meant to integrate stage, SATA, Mansfield RS, and rules. When in doubt, give the signal and stage priority over pattern-only tilt for action decisions.
- Pattern Direction — Confirms or challenges the tape story; it can be bullish while the five-letter signal is HOLD because gates fired. See Patterns and structure.
- Transition probabilities — Describe near-term stage lean, not profit odds. See Stage transition probabilities.
Common scenarios
| What you see | Plain read |
|---|---|
| AI Signal BUY, pattern bearish | Model + rules qualified a setup; patterns may lag or reflect a shorter horizon. Size smaller or wait for pattern alignment. |
| AI Signal HOLD, pattern strongly bullish | Gates may be blocking (SATA, MA structure, regime). The pattern alone does not override risk controls—verify why HOLD. |
| High transition % to Stage 3/4 while signal still ADD | Elevated exit-preparation risk; consider tighter stops or trim rules in your own plan. |
| High SATA but REDUCE | Stage may have rolled to distribution; SATA alone should not override stage-based risk. |
Habits that reduce whiplash
- Write one sentence in your journal: “Accepted / skipped because …” using the hierarchy above.
- Prefer small first entries when panels fight; add when alignment improves.
